The objective of this project is to design a distributed, proactive, autonomous, and intelligent traffic control system able to adapt the signaling intervals of several intersections according to the traffic situation in real time (or ahead of it) and implement the corresponding prototype for experimental testing. The research team includes researchers of two research groups from Universidad Politecnica de Cartagena (Spain), Telematics Engineering research Group (GIT) and Microelectronic Design and Devices research Group (DDM). In addition, the Head of the Urban Innovation Center from the city Local Government (UIC, Cartagena, Spain) is also a member of the team.
Project outcomes are being published in international conferences and journals.
